Background
Before starting her own hair salon business, located in the Kentlands community, Gaithersburg, MD, hairstylist, Sandi-kaye received her first job as a shampoo assistant at the age of 15. She didn’t fully know what she wanted to do at the time, but the universe has a way of putting you where you need to be.
As she looks back now 14 years later, she is amazed to see how far she has come. Her days aren’t limited to the hair salon. Instead, she juggles her time working in environments where fashion, public figures and hair all collide. She has had the opportunity to use her hairstyling expertise for news anchor/reporters, models and fashion designers, using techniques such as natural styling/silk press and extensions.
Sandi-kaye also has been a hairstylist freelancer for New York Fashion Week since 2012. She has worked along designers like Carolina Herrera, Romeo Hunte, Pryer Moss, Draya Michele, Anna Sui, Libertine, Flying Solo and Nolcha Shows, just to name a few.
Being apart of Fashion week has given her the opportunity to see some of her work in Vogue, Essence, The Cut, Hypebae, Paper Magazine, The Daily Front Row, The Bullet, ELLE and WWD.
As she travels the world, her goal is to leave an imprint on every project she works on, while helping others who come after her excel.
This model has been through extensive hair coloring. From multiple levels of blonde to blue-ish black hair color. Olaplex was the main ingredient to ensure the the integrity of her hair wasn’t damaged.
